I have some new followers, so for those that don't know, my son, Seth, is 12 yrs old and gets a weekly spot on my blog. This is his writing...I'm just the typest.
LOOK WHAT I GOT:
Cool, huh? I always wanted to be an apothecary. I guess now I am. :)
To prove it...
I have these herbs drying on strings. (Both of these are peppermint.)
And a bunch of new plants. Not all are shown on this photo. I really like my workstation. With all these new herbs, I have successfully come up with a crazy (but good) tea mix!
Seth's Spicy Ginger Tea2 Tablespoons dried Ginger rootApprox 5 dried rose petals3-5 dried rose budshoney to taste
OR
Seth's Sweet Ginger Tea1/2 Tablespoon dried Ginger root2Tablespoons chopped rose petals (you can cut them with scissors. I did.)5-7 uncut rose budshoney to taste
Heat about 2 1/2 cups of water until just under the boiling point. Add the herbs. Let steep for about 20 min. Strain before drinking. I strain over cheesecloth.
This concludes "Seth's Herb's" for this week. Please tune in next week to win $100,000. (You wish!) Just kidding. Next week I'll teach you how to make herbal syrup.
I really like the sign! That'll look great over his work station. :) I have a bunch of peppermint that's gotten a little out of hand in my garden, I'll cut a few & dry it for you & bring it up next time I can make it. I'll also bring you some strawberry shoots to plant! They are taking over too. :) Thanks for the recipes!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant sign! Where did you find it?
ReplyDeleteLove the workstation and seeing the growing plants too!
I need to get Seth to reply better! I do read his comments to him, and he loves to hear them. Amy got the sign at Hobby Lobby--a wonderful store that we spend too much money at!
ReplyDeleteSis...he would love the peppermint. He's been using his alot making all kinds of medicinal things...a gum rub for the baby, foot rub for Jerry, muscle rub for my arm. I think I may need to go buy him another plant of it.
What a cool sign....Looks like you have everything under control seth...hope you have a great successful summer...(my spelling is not the greatest) sorry..:)
